Summary
Start your day with a cup of tea and a journey into Japan’s vibrant cultural world. This introductory-level Japanese course offers a relaxed, immersive introduction to the Japanese language and culture, paired with an exploration of the visual art, history, and traditions that shape contemporary Japan.
Students begin each lesson with a relaxing tea tasting to create an inviting and engaging learning atmosphere. Through immersive lessons exploring Japanese traditional art forms such as ukiyo-e (woodblock prints) and sumi-e (ink painting), as well as contemporary cultural phenomena like anime (animation), manga (Japanese comics), and J-pop (Japanese pop music), students will develop essential speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Students will learn to read and write basic texts using Hiragana, Katakana, and approximately 20 Kanji characters. This approach ensures a practical and enjoyable understanding of the Japanese language in real-world contexts.

This course is mandatory for those who plan to attend Kansai Gaidai University in Osaka, Japan, as a direct exchange student.
