Course Description

Summary

This spring semester course, taught each year by different members of the Music faculty, serves as a workshop and forum for seniors to develop, present, and receive feedback on their advanced work in Music. Senior projects may take many forms, reflecting the breadth of creative practice in Music; performances, installations, musical plays, recordings, research projects, publications, or interdisciplinary collaborations are all viable options. Alongside group critique and faculty mentorship, the course provides support with technical planning, creative realization, and shaping a coherent vision for a final project.

Prerequisites

Only students with Music as a *primary* area of study in their Plan are qualified to enroll in Senior Projects. Music must have also been prominently featured in the student’s sixth-term Plan Progress and Advanced Work Essay.

Students wishing to apply for Senior Projects in Music must send a letter of interest that includes a proposal for their project, along with a copy of their Plan Progress and Advanced Work Essay, to Virginia Kelsey and Joe Alpar before November 20th.
