Course Description

Summary

The labs are designed to give students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of and relationships to movement practices.  The labs take the form of a series of classes and/or intensive workshops that can include both lecture/discussion and studio classroom formats. The LABS work to create an opportunity for students to be in direct dialogue with a variety of practitioners, points of view, approaches and strategies of embodied practices.

 

Learning Outcomes

  • Students will learn to demonstrate an advanced understanding of somatically informed embodied performance practices.
  • Students will learn to analyze and assert the role of improvisation within contemporary performance practices.
