Course System Home Terms Spring 2026 Mini Projects: Dance

Course Description

Summary

This is a laboratory for making a mini dance project that can be developed within the short time frame of 3 weeks, right at the start of the term. Students will be working with others in the class to make, teach, and rehearse selections of movement material, culminating in a project that may be shown in Dance Workshop. This is an opportunity for working with instincts, for finding quick solutions and perhaps creating a base for future work.

Students are expected to make movement material outside of class and then bring it in to teach and rehearse it; all are expected to join in a rehearsal process led by their peers. This is a collective/collaborative adventure. Throughout, participants will be contributing their perspectives and experiences as they clarify their own ways of making.

Course dates: February 20, 24, & 27, March 3, 6, & 10
