Philipp is the Chief Executive Officer of the Regenerative Food Network. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry including CEO of Ambata Capital, and CEO of Ambata Securities. Ambata (Am-BAH-tah) is a Swahili verb meaning to bridge, connect, or bring together. Ambata acts as a bridge between our clients and the best opportunities that we see. The Ambata team is constantly analyzing solutions, technologies, and best thinking regarding the world's largest problems—energy, food, waste, and water.
Previously, he was a co-founder of Gyre Capital Management, LLC a specialty asset manager and investment bank. While at Gyre, he was a managing partner of the Gyre Opportunity Fund (GOF) a $100MM proprietary investment vehicle for Credit Suisse. Prior to Gyre, Phillipp was CEO of Vision Fuel, LLC, an "idea hub" for the Deutsche Bank Angel Investment Group, performing deal origination, research, and due diligence on emerging technology companies in the southeastern United States. Over a three year period, the group invested $50MM of which Vision Fuel provided five deals totaling $11.5MM, including an early stage investment in PayPal.
Phillipp has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering and a Certificate in Economics from The Georgia Institute of Technology. He and his wife Preeya live in Atlanta, GA with their two daughters. Phillipp is a guest faculty member at Bennington for Fall 2020.
